LONDON - Half of Britain's population could be suffering from cancer by the year 2018, with 1,000 new cases diagnosed every day, according to a report released today.

The number of sufferers in Britain is set to soar by almost 70 per cent over the next 20 years, increasing the risk of contracting cancer from one in three to one in two, claims the study, which is issued by the charity Macmillan Cancer Relief.
