GARDAÍ HAVE issued a renewed appeal for information in a bid to track down the killer of a 73-year- old man who was found dead at his home on the north side of Cork city in November 2007.

Gussie Hornibrook’s body was discovered on November 6th, 2007, when his brother Bobby made a lunchtime visit to his home in Templeacre Avenue.

The murder shocked residents in the Gurranabraher area as Mr Hornibrook was a frail, vulnerable man who generally kept to himself. He lived alone and never felt the need to lock his door.

It is thought he was killed in the course of a botched robbery.
