Rape statement `unreliable'
A woman who claims she was raped by a former Kildare publican has told a Central Criminal Court jury that a statement she made to gardai was unreliable. However, she insisted to Mr Erwan Mill-Arden, defending, that she was raped. The 52-year-old accused has plea ded not guilty to raping the then 17-year-old at his Co Kildare home on September 23rd, 1997. The woman told Mr Mill-Arden she went to the man's house and smoked cannabis with him and another man.
