Montreal - Some 5.2 million Quebec voters were going to the polls yesterday to choose 125 members of the National Assembly and, by extension, a new premier for Canada's French-speaking province.
Opinion polls indicate that the party that narrowly lost an October 1995 plebiscite on secession from Canada - the separatist Parti Quebecois - was expected to make a strong showing.
