The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) is seeking information on the theft of dangerous drugs from four ambulances last night.

The ambulances were parked at the Lagan Valley Hospital in Lisburn, Co Antrim.

Thieves made off with two canvas paramedic bags from the ambulances. The Ambulance Service believes they contain adrenalin and diazepam. Both drugs could be fatal if taken without proper medical supervision, the service said.

Although there have been five break-ins in the past six years, this is the first theft of drugs, said Mr Keith Stewart of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
