A Palestinian intelligence officer was arrested by Israeli troops early Saturday during a military operation in the Dheishe refugee camp near the southern West Bank town of Bethlehem, local witnesses said.

Saud Eid Abu Omar, 40, who is also a member of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement, was wanted by Israel, the witnesses said.
