Relatives of the Omagh bomb victims today accused the Irish and British governments of lagging behind the US administration's tough stance on terrorism.

After President Bush backed the family's civil action against the "Real IRA" suspects blamed for the bombing, they claimed Dublin and London should be doing much more.

Mr Michael Gallagher, whose son Aidan was among the 29 killed when a car bomb exploded in the Co Tyrone town in August 1998, said: "We are disappointed in how weak the British and Irish governments have been in the face of terrorism".

He vowed to put his allegations to British Home Secretary Mr David Blunkett at a meeting next month.
