The decision not to cut corporation taxes for Northern Ireland businesses will be discussed by ministers meeting at Stormont today.

The power-sharing cabinet will discuss the fallout from yesterday's report by Sir David Varney, who ruled out reducing the tariff to the Republic of Ireland level of 12.5 per cent.

Finance minister Peter Robinson has expressed disappointment after Sir David's Treasury-commissioned review found that the action would not necessarily spark more foreign direct investment.

He also warned of an increased administrative burden on Revenue and Customs and the potential dislocation of businesses in Britain.
