LA Lakers center Shaquille O'Neal was suspended for three games without pay by the National Basketball Association today for throwing a punch at an opponent during a game.

The league took action against O’Neill after he threw a punch at Chicago Bulls center Brad Miller on Saturday.

O’Neill claimed the punch was in retaliation for taking hard fouls from Miller. O'Neal was also fined $15,000.

Miller was suspended for one game and fined $7,500.
