Minister for Justice Alan Shatter is one of the guest speakers at the Law Society annual conference, which opens today in Co Cork.
Its theme this year is Regulation, Representation and the Future of the Legal Profession.
Mr Shatter will address the conference tomorrow.
He will be joined by the president of the American Bar Association, Bill Robinson III.

Des Hudson, the chief executive of the Law Society of England and Wales, will also attend.
Cameron Ritchie, the president of the Law Society of Scotland, will also be a guest speaker.
Topics being discussed by delegates today include legal costs, managing risk, maintaining motivation and perspective and how the Law Society can represent solicitors.
