The RUC believes a man who was found badly injured on waste ground in south Belfast on Saturday afternoon was the victim of a sectarian attack. The 35-year-old man had injuries to his head and upper body and is in hospital where last night his condition was stable.

Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the man in the Maldon Street/Donegall Road area on Friday evening.
