A male pedestrian who was killed after being struck by a car in north Dublin in the early hours of this morning has been named as Patrick Grattan (42) from Deanstown Avenue in Finglas.
Mr Grattan was taken to the Mater Hospital after being hit by the vehicle on the Ballymun Road at around 1.35am. He was later pronounced dead.
He was the 242nd person to be killed on the State's roads since the beginning of this year, according to the Garda Press Office.
