An Ennis man has been remanded in custody charged with theft from a stallholder at the Christmas market in Galway city last year.
Jamie Clune (28), Bridge View, Ennis, is charged with the theft of €360 from the German trader who had a stall at the successful first Christmas market, situated in Eyre Square, Galway, on November 21st last year.
Garda Tom Doyle objected at Galway District Court yesterday to a bail application on several grounds. He said the DPP had directed the case could be dealt with in the District Court on a plea basis only.
Judge Mary Fahy refused bail and remanded Mr Clune in custody to appear before Harristown District Court next Friday.
