A man (19) has been found not guilty by direction of the judge of sexually assaulting a woman (50) in Killiney, Co Dublin.

Judge Michael White at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court told the jury he had made his decision to direct a not guilty verdict after legal argument in its absence before the weekend.

He also cited submissions by the accused's defence counsel.

The accused went on trial on February 24th after denying he sexually assaulted the woman and assaulted her, causing her harm, on December 29th, 2001.
