Police in Northern Ireland have launched a murder inquiry following the death of a man who had been found seriously injured on a Belfast street.

Mr Warren McCawley was found in the early hours of the morning last Tuesday in Belfast City Centre with face, head and other injuries and subsequently died in hospital as a result of those injuries.

A post-mortem is being carried out and Detective Super-Intendent Alan Mains is heading the investigation.

Coles Alley runs between Church Lane and Ann Street in Belfast City Centre.
