A Dublin pub owner has been charged in court over allegations he threatened another publican.

A Dublin pub owner has been charged in court over allegations he threatened another publican.

John Stokes (54), the Players Lounge, Fairview, was brought before a special sitting of Dublin District Court on Saturday where he was accused of ordering a publican to cease trading within 24 hours.

Mr Stokes was charged with making a demand with menaces on March 13th to Shane Simpson, the former leaseholder of the Castle public house in Summerhill.

Mr Stokes was remanded on bail to June 24th.
