A suspect device discovered in a carpark near a nightclub in Swords early this morning was a viable explosive, the Defence Forces have said.
The Army's bomb disposal unit received a request for assistance from gardai shortly before 2am when a device was discovered underneath a car outside the club at Airside Retail Park.
The device was made safe by a controlled explosion and the area was declared safe at 4.45am.
