The High Court has appointed a provisional liquidator to a Co Louth-based kitchen and cabinet-making firm that employs 40 people.

Mr Justice Roderick Murphy yesterday agreed to appoint accountant Ken Fennell as provisional liquidator to Tierney’s Kitchen and Cabinet Manufactures Ltd, Laurence Street, Drogheda, Co Louth, after being informed the company was insolvent and unable to pay its debts.

The court heard the company has liabilities of €2.8 million.

It was stated that the company got into difficulties because property developers were no longer buying kitchens.
