Tel Aviv - A jealous husband murdered his wife and two small children and then burned their bodies yesterday in a crime that brought calls for action to halt a rise in domestic violence in Israel.
Mr Amnon Cohen, a 43-year-old taxi-driver, was arrested and confessed to strangling and stabbing his 39-year-old wife to death in their bed and then strangling his son (4) and daughter (2) before setting fire to their Tel Aviv apartment, police said.
Mr Cohen reportedly told police he killed his wife because he suspected she was having an affair over the Internet. He allegedly killed his children so they would not suffer from the loss of their mother.
