Irish soccer international held in sex assault inquiry

A Republic of Ireland soccer international has been arrested in connection with  allegations of sexual assault.

A Republic of Ireland soccer international has been arrested in connection with  allegations of sexual assault.

Arsenal goalkeeper Graham Stack (22), was held over an alleged attack on a woman in Beckenham, Kent, in the early hours of Wednesday.

Another 22-year-old man was also arrested. Both men were released on bail until October 22nd, pending further inquiries.

Stack, who was born London, is regarded as a rising star in Irish soccer and has been a a regular place in the Ireland Under-21 side.

He played throughout Arsenal's run to the Carling Cup semi-finals last season and is currently on a season-long loan at Championship team, Millwall.
