The Department of Foreign Affairs Estimate for international co-operation is 16 per cent, or £18.7 million more than the figure for 1999. The total estimate is £137.7 million.

Among the specific subheads in the Estimates published yesterday was a 43 per cent rise in grant-in-aid for bilateral and other aid, to £95.8 million, and a 31 per cent increase in voluntary contributions to United Nations development agencies, to £11 million.
