Arsenal striker Thierry Henry will not face any disciplinary action from the Football Association despite flouting FIFA rules banning all T-shirt messages when he celebrated his winner against Manchester City.
However, he will be sent a letter by the FA to remind him of the regulations, with the aim of ensuring he does not repeat the gesture in future games.
Henry last night unveiled a logo on a T-shirt bearing the message 'for the new born Kyd' in honour of his pop star friend, Texas lead singer Sharleen Spiteri, who has just given birth to a daughter.
Boss Arsene Wenger appealed for the FA not to take any action against his French international, insisting that players should only be punished for "offensive" messages.
FA spokesman Adrian Bevington announced today: "We will be writing to Thierry Henry to remind him of the regulation.
"Clearly, this was intended as a goodwill gesture towards the new-born baby and we accept that. However, it is a breach of the international board regulations and we therefore feel the need to remind him of those regulations."
