Gunman shot in UK motorway standoff

A gunman has been injured in a shooting on the M6 motorway near Wigan, in the north of England.

Greater Manchester Police say a man threatened officers with a gun around 4 am near Junction 26.

A spokeswoman said the man was shot by a police marksman.

She said he is in hospital where his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
