PEOPLE intending to travel to the Murphy's Irish Open golf championship have been advised to plan their journeys to avoid congestion near the venue at Druids Glen, Co Wicklow.

Those heading from Dun Laoghaire, Shankill, Dalkey, Killiney and surrounding areas are urged to use the route through Bray, Greystones and Kilcoole, gaining access to the course from that side.

All other traffic from Dublin should head south on the N11 as far as the turn for Kilpedder, and then follow the signs. Those coming from Wexford should turn off at the exits for Newtownmountkennedy and again follow the signs.

According to AA Roadwatch, which issued the advice, there is ample car- parking at the site.
