Mr Jacques Girardin (39), who is facing extradition to France in connection with the murder of a woman and her two children in Angers last month, will appear at Bow Street Magistrates' Court in London today following his arrest in Manchester on Friday.

Mr Girardin is charged on a French extradition warrant with the murder of Ms Pascale Longesserre (38), on September 18th or 19th. Ms Longesserre's children, Camille (1) and Florian (4) were also found dead at their home but Mr Girardin has not been charged with their murders.

The Frenchman was arrested in Oldham, Greater Manchester, on Friday and brought to a police station in London on Saturday night after speculation that he was travelling to Sligo, where he lived for a period during 1989-1990. In April 1990, he was convicted of arson when he attempted to set fire to a restaurant in Sligo.
