Tel Aviv - The leader of Germany's Jewish community, Mr Ignatz Bubis (72), was buried in Israel yesterday in line with his wish for a final resting place that would be safe from desecration by neo-Nazis.
President Johannes Rau of Germany and Israel's President Ezer Weizman led some 200 mourners at Mr Bubis's funeral in Tel Aviv. Both leaders paid tribute to the Holocaust survivor as a leading force for reconciliation between Jews and Germans.
