A woman died yesterday morning after being struck by a vehicle while walking at Carrigtwohill in Co Cork.
At 8.15 a.m. Ms Mary Collins (47) from Castlemartyr in West Cork was crossing an inbound lane of the Cork to Midleton road at Barryscourt.
Gardai are seeking witnesses to the incident, who are asked to contact Carrigtwohill Garda station (021 883 222) or Cobh (021 811 333) with information.
Meanwhile, a second man was arrested yesterday in connection with the death of a woman who was struck by a stolen car in the Gurranabraher area of Cork on Sunday.
