Gardai injured in Mulhuddart collision

Six Gardaí were injured when the van they were travelling in was involved in a collision in west Dublin last night.

Six Gardaí were injured when the van they were travelling in was involved in a collision in west Dublin last night.

The Gardaí, who are attached to Blanchardstown Community Policing Unit, were on public order patrol in the Blanchardstown area when the collision occured at Damastown Rd, Mulhuddart.

It is understood the van they were travelling in was in a collision with an Opel Vectra car just before 9 o'clock last night.

The officers were treated and later released from James Connolly Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The 20 year old male driver of the other is still being treated at the James Connolly Memorial Hospital where his injuries are described as not life threatening.
