Gardaí are seeking assistance from the public in identifying a man whose body was recovered from a beach more than two weeks ago.

Officers in Sligo appealed for the public to come forward with any information about the man, who was found at Rosses Point on June 16th.

They are not treating his death as suspicious.

The dead man is believed to be around 55 to 65 years old and had short grey hair and dark eyebrows. He was of an average height, thin build, and was wearing swimming trunks.

A garda spokesman said a search of the area later revealed a number of other items of clothing, including a black leather jacket, navy chino style trousers, black belt, black sleeveless Tommy Hilfiger jumper, blue woollen sock, and black shoes.
