World champion middle distance runner Gabriela Szabo is to take a year out from running and may have a baby, she said today.
"I feel tired," Szabo said on her return home to Romania after taking the gold in the 1500 metres at the world championships in Edmonton.
"I plan a one year break and I'm also considering having a child."
Compatriot Lidia Simon, who won marathon gold in Canada, announced similar plans.

Both said they would restart training in 2003, a year before the next Olympic Games in Athens.
