There seems to be no doubt now that the human bones which were unearthed on Thursday in the course of excavation work at the junction of Fleet Street and Bedford Row, Dublin, where the foundation of a transformer station for the Shannon Electricity Board is being prepared, had been lying there for a long number of years, and at one time had been used for anatomical purposes. It is presumed that they had been in the possession of a medical student or some like person, who had buried them when the bones ceased to be of use as medical specimens.

This view is held by both Dr Ryan, District Medical Officer, and City Coroner, Dr Louis A. Byrne.
