At 7.30 p.m., the ambulance service in Dublin received a phone call from a Vietnamese man whose broken English made his whereabouts difficult to decipher. Eventually officers tracked the caller to an address in Tallaght, Co Dublin, where, at 7.56 p.m., local firemen Mr John Reilly and Mr Alan Doyle, assisted at the birth of a baby girl. Both mother and daughter were taken to the Coombe Hospital where they are doing well.
