A former Kildare footballer has pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to money laundering £45,000 (€57,000) for a criminal.
Mr Brian "Spike" Nolan (35) of Roebuck Park, Clonskeagh, but originally from Droichead Nua, admitted handling £45,000 between September 1st and October 20th, 2001, believing it to be another person's proceeds of criminal activity.
Mr Michael O'Higgins SC, for Mr Nolan, told Judge Des Hogan he had a number of witnesses he wanted to question in court that would testify to the good character of his client because he had no previous convictions.
Judge Hogan adjourned sentencing until November 26th.
