Ex-Davy chief economist joins AIB board

Former chief economist with Davy Stockbrokers Mr Jim O'Leary has joined the board of AIB as a non-executive director.

Former chief economist with Davy Stockbrokers Mr Jim O'Leary has joined the board of AIB as a non-executive director.

Mr O'Leary (45) is a lecturer in economics at NUI Maynooth and a member of the Public Sector Benchmarking Body.

He was chief economist at Davys from 1987 to 2001. Before that, he held positions at the National Economic and Social Council and the Economic & Social Research Institute and worked as economics adviser to the Taoiseach.

He is a former director of Aer Lingus and the National Statistics Board.
