If I had to guess I would say that I spend about three hours a day on the Internet between emailing and web browsing. I work on national committees like the Higher Education Authority and the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland that produce massive documents that get emailed rather than printed. Aside from mailing I would spend time researching for various campaigns on the websites of other national unions. There is a fount of useful stuff on the net and I am particularly interested in legal stuff as support material for campaigns and regularly use www.bailii.org for research. When I have some downtime I like to look at the Liverpool FC website. I find that I often don't have time to read the newspapers so www.liverpoolfc.org keeps me in touch with all that happens at Anfield and the highs and lows of my favourite soccer team. I regularly check out the breaking news section of the Irish Times' www.ireland.com website to avoid getting trapped in the office and letting the world pass me by. I also like to stay in touch with friends and colleagues through sending text messages from my computer using the www.mtnsms.com website.
