THE PUSH for schools to introduce their own development planning has kicked off with the launch last week of

School Development Planning: An Introduction for Second Level Schools. Although 100 schools around the State have been chosen to begin this pilot scheme - which involves everything from curriculum, staff development, discipline policy to pastoral care and finance management - all schools will eventually be required to plan for themselves. Schools involved in the scheme receive between £1,000 and £1,500.
