Full-time courses

The department of professional accountancy at Athlone IT offers the following full-time courses:

Three-year diploma in professional accounting

One-year BA in accounting and finance - open to students who gain the relevant grades at national diploma

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants - up to and including final exams

Chartered Institute of Certified Public Accountants - up to and including final exams

Chartered Institute of Management Accountants - up to and including final exams

Institute of Accounting Technicians in Ireland - two-year course

Getting in

Entry requirements for the diploma in professional accounting:

Pass in six subjects in the Leaving Cert including maths and a language. At least three of the six subjects must be at grade C in higher-level papers. Accountancy does not have to be one of your Leaving Cert subjects.
