The Social Welfare Tribunal has decided to award unemployment pay to almost 9,000 Dunnes Stores workers for the two weeks when they were on strike last September. The cost of the award will be nearly £1 million. A spokeswoman for the Department of Social Welfare said yesterday that payments could be made after Christmas.
