A FORMER member of a religious sect died of multiple head injuries after falling at a bathing spot overlooked by the cliff walk from Bray to Greystones in Co Wicklow, an inquest heard yesterday.

Ciaran de Suin (31), of Moyne Road, Ranelagh, Dublin, was discovered by three teenagers on the shore at a swimming spot called the Seagull Rocks, on March 5th last.

Yesterday his sister, Ms Helen Forde, told the Dublin County Coroner's court that in his early 20s her brother had become strongly involved with a religious sect, which she did not identify, in Bray.

He left it "about six years ago. But he still often went out to Bray."

Sgt William Conneely of Bray Garda station said no third party was involved in the deceased man's fall.

Dr Niamh Nolan, a consultant pathologist at St Vincent's Hospital, said death was due to severe chest and head injuries consistent with a fall. No evidence of drugs or alcohol was found.

Dr Bartley Sheehan, the Dublin County Coroner, accepted the jury verdict that death was in accordance with the medical evidence.
