Tokyo - The number of Japanese who killed themselves last year fell slightly in the first annual decrease in six years, but still exceeded 30,000 for the third year in a row. The number of suicides in Japan last year was 31,957, a drop of 3.3 percent from the record high of 33,048 people who killed themselves in 1999.
