The owner of a business premises has been ordered to pay damages to a van driver bitten by an Alsatian dog belonging to a security company. Judge Carrol Moran held in the Circuit Civil Court that although Robinson Transport Ltd, of Ballymun Industrial Estate, Dublin, did not own the dog it was liable under the Control of Dogs Act.

Mr William McNamara, The Avenue, Orlynn Park, Lusk, Co Dublin, was awarded £3,000.
