Damages for woman who fell on holiday

A woman who slipped and fell in a jacuzzi while on a sun holiday has been awarded damages against a Spanish hotel group.

A woman who slipped and fell in a jacuzzi while on a sun holiday has been awarded damages against a Spanish hotel group.

Mary Gordon told the Circuit Civil Court that Elizabeth Callaghan (54) injured both her knees and both hands in the fall.

Ms Callaghan, a technician at Coombe University Hospital, told Judge Jacqueline Linnane she had been on holiday in Benidorm.

Judge Linnane said Ms Callaghan’s work both in the hospital and in her home had been affected by the injuries to her hands and her right arm. She awarded her €10,000 damages.
