Two cousins who beat an Ennis man to death have been cleared of murder at the Central Criminal Court.

Two cousins who beat an Ennis man to death have been cleared of murder at the Central Criminal Court.

The two, Michael Nihill and Joseph O'Halloran, have pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Mr Michael Shannon, who was attacked by the pair in a car park in Ennis.

Mr Justice Smith remanded both men for sentencing on July 16th. Nihill (26) of Church Drive, Clarecastle, and O'Halloran, (30) now living in New Park Road, London, have pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Mr Shannon (34), of Ennis on April 2nd, 2000.
