A High Court judge yesterday said he would like to know what documents related to the employment of a secretary at the Aga Khan's Irish stud had been shredded by the Aga Khan.
Mr Justice Budd said knowing what documents were shredded was a critical matter in proceedings. The secretary, Ms Mary Charlton, is seeking several orders, including the attachment or committal to prison of the Aga Khan and members of his staff.
The judge said the Aga Khan had told a US lawyer, Mr Henry Carnegie, that he had shredded documents relating to the employment of Ms Charlton (54) of Canalway, Kilcullen, Co Kildare, who had been secretary for 27 years at the Aga Khan's stud.
Ms Charlton previously got a court order against the Aga Khan's Stud Societe Civile de Paris, restraining it from holding a disciplinary hearing involving her.
