The Labour Court is expected to publish its proposals on resolving the secondary school teachers' dispute today.

But it is not expected the court will recommend a settlement that will breach the terms of the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness.

The Association of Secondary School Teachers Ireland (ASTI) suspended its strike action in January pending this Labour Court ruling.

The 180-member ASTI executive committee decides tomorrow whether to put the court's proposals before its 16,000 members in a ballot or reject them.

Yesterday ASTI warned of escalating strike action if it is not satisfied with the recommendations with new strikes being proposed for as soon as next Tuesday.
