Ireland's Des Smyth holds the lead early in the fourth round of the Senior PGA Championship at the Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania.

The Drogheda golfer carded a course record 65 in the rain-interrupted third round to hold a two-stroke lead at four under-par over Americans Bobby Wadkins and John Jacobs. Fuzzy Zoeller is a further shot behind.

Seiji Ebihara, a two-time winner of the Irish Seniors Open, had held the lead on Saturday until play was suspended due to inclement weather and when play resumed this morning, Smyth took the tournament by the scruff of the neck.
