Washington - As concern over the use of the death penalty increases, President Clinton has decided to postpone the execution of a man due on August 5th, Joe Carroll reports. The President is involved because Juan Raul Garza, who has been convicted of three drug-related murders, is on death row in a federal prison. His would be the first federal execution since President Kennedy authorised one almost 40 years ago.

President Clinton said he will not make a decision on Mr Garza's case until clemency procedures have been finalised.
