The Prague-Ruzyne international airport was shut down for three hours early today due to a bomb threat.

A Czech Airlines CSA spokesman said the airport was closed and all personnel and travellers evacuated at about 6.00 a.m. (5.00 a.m. Irish time) after authorities received the bomb threat by phone.

Authorities reopened the airport three hours later after a police search found nothing.

Travellers remained in a car park outside the airport during the operation; passengers aboard planes stayed on board until the search was completed.
