LONDON - The Labour Party leader, Mr Tony Blair, has given his backing to New York style "zero tolerance" schemes in which police clamp down hard on even minor crimes like graffiti. In an interview for The Big Issue magazine, Mr Blair voiced his support for the radical "zero tolerance" policing regime used in New York and currently being tried out in London's King's Cross. Labour has already suggested a range of tough law and order tactics.
