Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption, PC CD-Rom, £34.99
Vampire: The Masquerade Redemption is a role playing game (RPG) with a lot of similarities to the better known Diablo. You are Christof, who becomes one of the undead creatures he once battled - a vampire. The story is quite linear and so is the gameplay. At the beginning of the game, for instance, a nun asks if you go into the mines tomorrow, but your answer is irrelevant, you will go to the mines the next day.
Aside from such flaws, Vampire is entertaining enough. Your missions are fairly simple: go somewhere, find something, and kill some enemy. You spend most of time clicking on your mouse so your character can attack enemies. It is a hit and miss affair - and impossible to master - but Vampire is not the only RPG with this problem.
RPG fans will enjoy it, but one suspects that the release of Diablo II might mean that this Vampire won't see the light of day.
